Science:

In science we continued on with our study of the cell.  Students completed a cell organelle foldable and looked at some slides of animal cells and plant cells and tried to discern the difference.    Cell foldable  Students also set up an experiment to observe and ask questions of.  For those of you who were not here the lab template is here: Lab report document

Materials:

1/2 cup water, 2 cups, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, dropper, iodine, baggies

Procedures:

place 1/2 cup water and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a cup and mix it up.  Pour it into the baggie and seal the baggie.  Wipe off the baggie and make sure that there is nothing on the outside.  Take other cup and fill it halfway up with water.  Place 20 drops of iodine into the cup of water.  Place the baggie with the cornstarch mixture into the iodine water.  What does it look like now? Watch and observe any changes you may see.

Here is a series of pictures of what happened.
