**Testing next week.  Students do have work from all classes for Monday, Wednesday and Friday to complete, however no homework will be assigned for Tuesday and Thursday.  Students still come to school on Tuesday and Thursday next week and the following week at regular time (8:00am).  They will complete testing at 12:00 and can be picked up at that time, or if they have afternoon classes, they can resume their normally scheduled day.  I will not be able to provide Friday tutoring, as I am testing students.

For my class, I have laid out a daily schedule for students to follow, and have provided a packet of work to complete.  Here are the instructions:

6th Grade: April 17, 2015

During the next two weeks of testing we will not have our normal core classes.  Students have been given and assignment sheet (two week assignment sheet) and corresponding work to complete on the school days in which they are NOT testing.  They are responsible for completing work Monday 4/20, Tuesday 4/21, Thursday 4/24, Monday 4/27, Tuesday 4/28, Thursday 4/30, Monday 5/4, Tuesday 5/5.  During this time period if you or your student has ANY questions regarding the assignments please don’t hesitate to call, email or text me.  Thanks!

* Reminder, students will be testing next week, and the following week.  They will still need to be here at 8am, and they will not have morning classes, but instead test until 12:00.  Then they will have lunch and resume their normal schedule.  I will be assigning homework on Thursday for the two weeks that we will not be holding class.  I also will not be holding tutoring on Fridays during that time, as I will be assisting in other grade levels with the testing.  Also, please have students bring a book to read if they finish testing before the allotted time is up.

Exploring a topic – Students will be writing a reaseach paper over the next month.  They need to choose a topic and then they need to complete this form.  They need to complete the areas that say “Potential Area of Investigation 1, 2 and 3”   They are using this to narrow down their topic and develop it into a question in which to research.  Exploring a topic

Wow, last day of March already!  Time is flying by!

There is not much homework for today, as we did a practice test in class yesterday to help prepare students for the new CAASPP testing in April.  It took longer than expected so I did not have time to do the lesson I had prepared, and they needed the lesson to do most of the homework…so they get a bit of a break!
